Pack an A+ Lunch
Combining school with a healthy lunch can be quite difficult. From elementary
school children to college students, everyone needs to pay attention to proper
nutrition.
Try the following when packing a lunch for a child:
Bake muffins that include carrots, zucchini or bananas. Keep them
in the freezer and pull out when needed for a lunch. They will thaw
by lunchtime.
Keep raw fruits and vegetables on hand
and let your children pack their own salad
for their lunchbox. Use hummus or a
creamy yogurt as a dip or dressing.
Roll turkey slices with low-fat cream
cheese and hold it together with a pretzel
stick or wrap the turkey around a pickle
or cucumber.
Make finger sandwiches using pita bread.
Stuff with peanut butter, tuna salad or
chicken salad.
Make veggie pizzas with pita bread or English muffin as the crust.
Make a fruit smoothie and pack in a thermos.
Angel food cake is great cubed and topped with cubed fruit.
Watch portion size
these are kids.
